Expressway Nears Completion
The 213-kilometer Delhi-Dehradun Economic Corridor is poised to open for traffic shortly after the first week of February. This new artery promises to slash the travel time between the national capital and the Uttarakhand capital to under three hours, marking a significant leap in regional connectivity. Minor finishing touches, including essential pit stops, are being rapidly completed across the corridor.
Over 99% Physical Progress Achieved
According to the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), construction across all four phases of the project has achieved over 99% physical progress. Officials confirmed that remaining minor works, particularly at an interchange on National Highway 334B, are scheduled for completion within the next ten days. This near-total completion signals readiness for public access.
Tolls and Speed Limits Detailed
Once operational, the expressway will feature a maximum speed limit of 100 kmph for cars and 80 kmph for trucks. Commuters can expect to pay approximately ₹60 for a one-way journey using a FASTag annual pass, with costs around ₹500 for non-pass holders across the four toll plazas. The ride quality is expected to rival other premium expressways in the country. The project spans four distinct phases, from Akshardham in Delhi to Dehradun, involving both brownfield and greenfield construction segments.
