Kia India Forges New Leasing Alliance

Kia India announced today it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Avis Leasing, an established auto leasing firm. This strategic alliance significantly bolsters Kia India's existing Kia Lease Programme, bringing the total number of leasing partners to three and signaling a concerted effort to capture a larger share of India's expanding vehicle leasing and subscription market.

Enhanced Customer Mobility Solutions

The partnership is designed to deliver customer-centric mobility solutions tailored for individuals requiring vehicles for extended periods. The Kia Lease Programme offers flexible tenures stretching from 36 to 60 months, accompanied by various mileage options. A key draw for consumers is the absence of any initial down payment, making new Kia vehicles more accessible. The comprehensive leasing package includes essential services like maintenance, insurance renewal, and end-of-lease resale management, promising a hassle-free ownership experience.

Strategic Expansion and Market Growth

Atul Sood, Senior Vice President of Sales & Marketing at Kia India, highlighted the strategic importance of this move. "The Leasing and Subscription space is emerging as an important growth driver in the Indian Auto industry," Sood stated. He emphasized that this collaboration strengthens Kia Lease as a scalable platform capable of addressing evolving customer preferences and generating incremental demand beyond traditional car sales. This initiative aligns with Kia India's long-term vision for sustainable growth and a robust mobility business in the country.

Kia India first launched its leasing program in 2024, seeking to offer premium leasing and subscription services that cater to modern Indian consumers' changing ownership patterns and long-term travel requirements. The company had previously established agreements with Orix India and Ayvens India. Kia India continues to expand its footprint, having dispatched nearly 1.5 million vehicles from its Anantapur plant and boasting over 500,000 connected cars on Indian roads across a network of 821 touchpoints.
