Stocks Mentioned

Ashiana Housing shares experienced a notable decline, shedding 2.8% to reach ₹278.4 on the BSE on Tuesday. This downturn followed the company's announcement of its third-quarter business update for fiscal year 2026, impacting investor sentiment. The broader Sensex index also registered losses, down 0.49% at 83,165.06. Ashiana Housing's market capitalization stood at approximately ₹2,802.13 crore.

Q3 FY26 Performance Metrics

The latest exchange filing revealed a year-on-year contraction in key sales indicators for the December quarter. Area booked contracted to 5.56 lakh square feet, a decrease from 6.77 lakh square feet reported in the same quarter of the previous fiscal year. The total value of area sold also saw a decline, falling to ₹401.07 crore from ₹454.16 crore.

Unit Bookings and New Launches

While the overall area and value figures dipped, Ashiana Housing managed to book 357 units in Q3 FY26. This represents an increase from the 307 units booked in Q2 FY26. However, this figure remains below the 451 units booked in Q3 FY25. New project launches, Ashiana Amaya (Jamshedpur) and Vatsalya Phase-II (Chennai), contributed 149 units to the quarter's bookings.

Nine-Month Sales and Prior Year Drivers

For the first nine months of fiscal year 2026, the cumulative sales value of booked area reached ₹1135.47 crore. This compares to ₹1362.17 crore in the same period of fiscal year 2025. The previous year's stronger performance was significantly influenced by the launch of Ashiana Amara Phase-4 in Gurugram, which accounted for a substantial portion of sales.

Project Handover and Company Specialization

The third quarter also saw the commencement of handover for several projects, including Ashiana Malhar Phase-I (Pune), Ashiana Dwarka Phase-V (Jodhpur), and Ashiana Ekansh Phase-I (Jaipur). Ashiana Housing has carved a niche in the Indian real estate market, particularly by pioneering retirement living concepts alongside its offerings of higher-end residential projects featuring amenities like green spaces and club facilities.
