Seed Funding Boosts Indigenous Aerospace Ambitions

Bengaluru-based deeptech startup Misochain Technologies announced on Tuesday it has secured ₹18 crore in a seed funding round spearheaded by Capital-A, a venture capital firm focused on manufacturing and deep technology. This significant capital injection is earmarked for establishing a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility dedicated to producing critical aerospace components.

Accelerating Domestic Production and Certification

The fresh capital will also fuel efforts to accelerate product certification programs and scale engineering and testing capabilities for unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) manufacturers and international aerospace customers. Founded in 2019 by former Honeywell Aerospace engineers Rama Kandula and Murali Krishnan, Misochain focuses on developing flight-critical aircraft components, many of which are presently imported into India. Its product pipeline includes essential items such as air data probes, vibration isolation systems, actuators, and solenoid valves, integral to aircraft flight management and control systems.

Reducing Import Dependency

Misochain is particularly focused on developing Air Data Probes domestically. This segment is heavily regulated, demanding high certification standards, long supplier relationships with aircraft manufacturers, and guaranteed long-term continuity. "India has built strong aircraft and defence platforms, yet many flight-critical subsystems still depend on overseas suppliers," stated Rama Kandula, Co-Founder and CEO of Misochain Technologies. "This investment allows us to advance certification timelines, expand engineering depth, and move closer to serial deployment across defence and aviation platforms."

Market Validation and Operational Model

Ankit Kedia, Founder and Lead Investor at Capital-A, highlighted Misochain's strategic position. "Aerospace manufacturing is defined by certification depth, execution discipline, and long product lifecycles," Kedia noted. "Misochain has crossed a key inflection point by achieving technical qualification for flight-critical systems, placing it among a small group of suppliers with durable relevance to India's defence ecosystem and global aerospace supply chains."

The company employs a capital-efficient manufacturing strategy, outsourcing precision machining to vetted partners while maintaining in-house control over design, assembly, testing, certification, and intellectual property. Misochain holds AS9100D certification for both design and manufacturing and has developed proprietary probe-heating technologies engineered for extreme flight conditions.
